What file formats does MIX! support?

Scratch DJ Academy MIX! supports AIFF, WAV, MP3, AAC, and ALAC file formats. MIX! works with 16-bit mono or stereo files with a 44100khz sample-rate.

Why won’t my song files import?

Scratch DJ Academy MIX! limits the length of songs that it will import to a minimum of 20 seconds and a maximum of 20 minutes. A song must also contain at least 12 bars of music to be imported. Also make sure the format of the song is supported by MIX!: See “What file formats does MIX! support?”

The BPM of my song is detected incorrectly. What now?

MIX! is very accurate with BPM detection, but it is not perfect.  You can correct an inaccurate BPM by using the song information editor in MIX! (see “Song Information Window” chapter in the User’s Manual).  Scratch DJ Academy MIX! also only uses tempos between 60 BPM and 180 BPM. Tempos that fall outside of this range will be scaled up or down to a value that works best for beat matching.

“Check for Updates…” does not work on my Windows XP machine.

Scratch DJ Academy MIX! requires Service Pack 3 to work correctly on Windows XP machines.

If I change the sample rate of the audio device I’m using in another program while MIX! is running, the audio sounds very slow or very fast. Why is that?

This is a known issue and will be addressed in a future version of the software.

Why can’t I register my license key?

MIX! requires an active internet connection to register. If you are connected and continue to have trouble registering, please email us with your key and we will test it out.
